Child Marriage: Promoting the Empowerment of Ethnic Minority Girls in Vietnam

The case of child marriage among ethnic minorities in Vietnam, especially in the northern mountainous region is still a problem that has not been completely resolved. Over the past few years, several attempts from government projects, campaigns, and social organizations against child marriage have contributed significantly to reducing child marriage rates. However, ethnic minority communities in general and ethnic minority girls, in particular, are still not aware of the consequences of child marriage, and girls' empowerment.

The project is funded by the South East Asia-Sydney Center for Research Cooperation Support and Fund and aims to raise public awareness and action to reduce the rate of child marriage while promoting the empowerment of girls to make their own life decisions. The contents and activities of the project are being researched and developed in the northern mountainous region of Vietnam.
